SkiTools offers a new concept of ski teaching, which combined with the current evolution of ski equipment allows rapid learning for all levels of skier. Even the goal of top level professional skiing is placed within easy reach of the average adult - no longer is it necessary to begin as a child to reach a high level.

SkiTools also develops philosophical concepts and shows how to transfer the philosophy of a sporting discipline to daily life.

Skiing is more than a sport; it is a way of life for many people. Much of the information published on skiing fails to capture this reality, falling into the categories of dull how-to manuals or superficial glossy magazines and over-the-top videos. This work tries to capture the true depth of skiing, which though appreciated by many, remains rarely communicated.

The contents of the MetaSki-D-ROM (SkiTools 1) can be digested wholly or selectively - as interactive instruction, philosophy, science, art or just for pleasure. There are four main themes/dimensions: The Way of the Skier (philosophy), Skiology (science), SkiArt (videos/slides) and Nature (mountain environment). The basic "instructional" parts of skiing are found within Skiology. Skiology explores fundamental principles of naturalmotion, guiding the skier on a discovery of physical efficiency and clear understanding.

Skiing cannot be fully represented by simple parts alone. When the simple parts are put together, completely new properties emerge; some of which are extremely complex and become misleading if the underlying rules are not understood. The Way of the Skier is a focus on the skills required to perceive, understand, exploit and master those unexpected emergent properties in skiing and in all other learning situations.

Whatever the level of skier you are, you are invited to keep a “beginner’s mind”, where openness and curiosity open the door to endless discovery.
